Friends from far away

Michelle in Scotland wrote us a lovely note a while back:

for the past year I’ve had the joy of watching my husband Paul take up the banjo which has been a long time dream for him.  We live in Edinburgh, Scotland and for his 30th birthday we pulled together the money to buy a banjo for him when we were home in the states visiting my family.

a year on, we’re returning to new jersey to visit my family and the banjo is coming with us.  He absolutely loves playing it and faithfully watches your lessons on the internet which he completely gives credit to learning the banjo from you!

Unfortunately, we won’t be in the states in April, otherwise, I’m sure he’d have signed up for your gathering then.  I was just wondering if it might be possible for us to take a day road trip from new jersey to Maryland to meet you?

They arrived today and we had a wonderful afternoon playing the banjo and munching on Miss Trudy’s scones. Paul is doing really well on the banjo.
